Details Details Close Description This extraordinary, bronze, of “Saintongeois Pointers”, was modeled by Pierre Jules Mene during the late 1800’s. Entitled “Bitch with Pups”, it depicts the mother dog protecting her litter of nursing puppies. The figurine has an incised signature, and it is mounted to a very heavy marble plinth. The entire piece is 8″ tall x 14 1/2″ long x 8 1/2 ” wide. It is in excellent condition. The detailing of this elegant family of dogs is absolutely exquisite, and this moment, captured in bronze is extraordinarily tender.
