Born in Pittsburgh, American artist Norman Kent (1903 – 1972) attended the Rochester Institute and trained at the Art Students League in New York under Leftwich Dodge. He learned the art of the woodcut under Allen Lewis and became a prominent print maker, known for his city scenes and historic barn woodcuts.
