Details Details Close Description 20Th Century, Mid Century Modern, a Pair of Space Age Suspension Lamp ” Clear” by Luigi Massoni for Guzzini, Italy1970 – A Pair – Lucite and Chrome – In 1962, Luigi Massoni meets the brothers Raimondo, Giovanni and Giuseppe Guzzini in Milan: it is the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. He worked for Fratelli Guzzini and Harvey Guzzini, what later changed in iGuzzini, until 1976. iGuzzini illuminazione was established in June 1958 by Raimondo Guzzini (born 1928) under the name Harvey. Harvey is derived from the famous movie ‘Harvey’ with James Stuart and the invisible rabbit Harvey from 1950. Socket type European socket (up to 250V). Luigi Massoni (1930-2013) was one of Italy’s most prolific designers and instrumental in the growth of the country’s design industry in the postwar years through his products, advertising campaigns and journalistic work at Italian magazines. Luigi Massoni (1930-2013) was trained as an architect and designer at the Collectivo di Architectura in his native Milan. In 1957 he started his design career by making – together with Carlo Mazzeri – an ice bucket and a cocktail shaker for Alessi, which is still in production today. In the same year he started his collaboration with Carlo de Carli. Together with De Carli, he founded the magazine ‘Il Mobile Italiano’ and initiated the ‘Standard’ furniture biennale in Mariano Comense. Throughout his career, Massoni served clients such as Boffi, Gabbianelli, Poltrona Frau, Sirrah, Venini and Guzzini. As art director for Guzzini (1963-1976), he was responsible for the company’s corporate image and design policy. In that capacity, he hired designers such as Gio Ponti, Gae Aulenti and Fabio Lenci.
