Details Details Close Description One of our favorite pieces recently curated on a trip to Paris. Edouard Righetti was a Swiss born Mid-Century artist (b.1924) known primarily for his work in painting and printmaking. Though he was born Swiss, he moved away early in life and spent most of his life living and creating in France. He was known for his stylistic depictions of peasants, animals, landscapes and the sadness of suburbia. Righetti participated in numerous Salons and exhibitions internationally during his career and is widely collected. This energetic and exquisite mixed media work is a snapshot into the suburban landscape of historical France that he is widely known for. The artist has signed the bottom left of this work “E. Righetti” with a side note of “Espagne” (“Spain” in translation). The bottom right is signed, but despite research, I cannot decipher or locate any connections – I hope you can!
